pray yakima 24.7

2nd Sunday Each Month

You are invited to come alongside Yakima churches and ministries as we offer 24/7 prayer – 365 days a year – on behalf of our Yakima Valley. Your participation in this effort is vital to the positive transformation of our valley.  May you and your family be blessed in coming together and being a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Grace of Christ is asked to provide prayer coverage the 2nd Sunday of every month using the prayer prompts below provided by Yakima Valley 24/7 Prayer.  If you would like to join the team and set aside just 15 minutes to pray for Yakima on the 2nd Sunday of every month, please send us an email!
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

The Lord is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?  Psalm 27:1
Our Praises:
Let us come to Him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to Him. Psalm 95:2. A psalm of David. I will sing of your love and justice, Lord. I will praise You with songs. Psalm 101:1. Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, singing, “I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea. “The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him. Exodus 15:1-2.  Songs of Victory in Heaven. After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting, “Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God. Revelation 19:1. Speak to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, [offering praise by] singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:19.
Our Needs:
We are experiencing discouragement while waiting in isolation, political tensions, virus lockdowns causing tension in families, schools and churches where our religious freedom is threatened, resulting in domestic violence, substance abuse and suicides. “In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.” Ephesians 6:10-12.  Teach me Your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies [who lie in wait]. Do not give me up to the will of my adversaries, for false witnesses have come against me; They breathe out violence. I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord. Psalm 27:11-14.  They devise acts of injustice, saying, “We are ready with a well-conceived plan.” For the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep (mysterious, unsearchable). But God will shoot them with an [unexpected] arrow; Suddenly they will be wounded. So, they will be caused to stumble; Their own tongue is against them; All who gaze at them will shake the head [in scorn]. Then all men will fear [God’s judgment]; They will declare the work of God, and they will consider and wisely acknowledge what He has done. The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in Him; All the upright in heart will glory and offer praise. Psalm 64:6-10.
Messages of Hope for this New Year:
‘As for the promise which I made with you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit stands [firm and immovable] and continues with you; do not fear!’ For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Once more, in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the desirable and precious things of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory and splendor,’ says the Lord of hosts. Haggai 2:5-7.  Blessed [gratefully praised and adored] be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant and boundless mercy has caused us to be born again [that is, to be reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] to an ever-living hope and confident assurance through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 [born anew] into an inheritance which is imperishable [beyond the reach of change] and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are being protected and shielded by the power of God through your faith for salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice greatly, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, which is much more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested and purified by fire, may be found to result in [your] praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3-6.  “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria, nor because of all the army that is with him; for the One with us is greater than the one with him. 2 Chronicles 32:7
Hope in Jesus’ Victory Brings Us Together:
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:1. Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful]. There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation]—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] overall and [working] through all and [living] in all. Ephesians 4:3-6.  So, as God’s own chosen people, who are holy [set apart, sanctified for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself], put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper]; bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive. Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others]. Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. Col 3:12-15. [For my hope is] that their hearts may be encouraged as they are knit together in [unselfish] love, so that they may have all the riches that come from the full assurance of understanding [the joy of salvation], resulting in a true [and more intimate] knowledge of the mystery of God, that is, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge [regarding the word and purposes of God]. Colossians 2:2-3.
“Do not remember the former things or ponder the things of the past. Listen carefully, I am about to
do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. The beasts of the field will honor Me, jackals and ostriches, because I have given waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. The people whom I formed for Myself will make known My praise.” Isaiah 43:18-21
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”   1 Corinthians 15.57 (ESV)
