Welcome to Missions Sunday, Ambassadors of Jesus Christ!

Our guest speaker today is Garrett Gress of Young Life Yakima Valley. Young Life leaders are passionate about walking alongside teens, creating spaces of belonging, and sharing the hope of Jesus. Young Life is a place where every young person is seen, valued, and invited to the purpose God has for them. Leaders go on campus, learn kids' names, hear their stories, do fun activities, and share the great news of a God who loves them. 

Young Life began in the early 1940s in response to an emerging adolescent subculture in high schools. Beginning with a few simple ideas about sharing the truth of God's love with kids, these ideas have become time-tested methods for reaching out to kids in friendship and love. Their five C's are Contact (meeting kids where they are), Club (a party with a purpose), Campaign (learn and grow through study, service, and leadership), Camp (the highlight for many), and Committee (caring, supportive adults).
