Greetings to God’s People in Yakima

This Sunday I have the blessing of offering you a "candidate" sermon and explore with you the recommendation of your nominating committee to have me as your next pastor. This is certainly a big day for me and my family, as it is for your church family. We're going to talk about the hope that we have by rediscovering the foundation of the church as Paul describes it in Ephesians 4:1-16. We have all experienced change and transition in the church throughout the later 20th and 21st centuries, and hopes, schemes, and programs have come and gone like the wind and waves. We will explore how leadership style, theology, and the nature of the church combine to show us that the future of the church is profoundly hopeful.

I can't wait to meet you all and I pray that God has indeed brought me to you to equip all of you saints for the work of ministry "until we all attain… the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ" (Eph 4:13).
